We see it most often in the SENC, but also further north and inland. This is most evident on the canes as blotches. We noticed we see less of it when plants are grown on raised beds covered with plastic.

The rusts can be found on fruit, leaves AND canes. So cane blotch is different.Gina_fernandez@ncsu.eduhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17716129715190400962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4627263719943649769.post-52530794671005263812012-03-29T17:37:49.393-04:002012-03-29T17:37:49.393-04:00Does orange cane blotch, which is an algae from wh...Does orange cane blotch, which is an algae from what I understand, fall into your definition of orange rust? I'm near Montgomery AL and I've been seeing orange cane blotch show up on my thornless varieties starting in the fall and continuing on into the spring. However, I'm assuming because I only see it on my canes that it's not a type of rust. Is this a fair assumption? I've also noticed, Kocide 2000 does a good job of clearing it up.BarberBerryFarmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18379018287872090314noreply@blogger.com
